It’s served him for three years, but Joshua’s first bike is now obsolete. We bought it April 4 2010, and I thought it would last him another year, but alas, he’s too big. How big? It looked a little low on him, so I had our local bike shop check him out also. They raised his handlebars and seat, and he looked very much like a circus bear riding a teeny tiny bicycle. Egads, this was not going to work. We looked at both new and used options, but Josh had settled on a new shiny red Jamis bike. I tried to explain to him the possibilities of a used bike, but he loved that new bike instead. I can’t argue with him, because if there’s anything I’ve learned from watching Bollywood films about bicycles, the heart knows what it wants.
