Donnie Brasco (1997)

For the life of me, I don’t know why I haven’t seen Donnie Brasco in the last 11 years.  This was a good movie.  This is a movie, based on the real life true story of the Joe Pistone, a former Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agent who worked undercover to infiltrate the NY Bonanno family back in the late 70’s.  Johnny Depp’s character is trying to stay in character as he infiltrates the mob (and not be discovered), yet stay the same family person and keep his family together.  Even they were hardened criminals, you liked the characters in a way, such as Al Pacino’s character Benjamin “Lefty Guns” Ruggiero.

Good story, good acting, interesting characters. Johnny Depp and Al Pacino were great.
