Today was an odd-yet-relaxed day. I got the kids ready for school, then Namita and I went the funeral of a friend’s grandfather down in Englishtown, NJ. Afterwards, we went to get a late lunch at a new Thai restaurant that opened up recently, Tom Yum Goong II (2nd restaurant, 1st is in Princeton.) I had to run some errands, and then settled down to watch our next Netflix movie queue selection, The Departed.
The Departed is a 2006 Martin Scorsese that won four Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Achievement in Directing. It stars a great cast, including Leonard DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson, Mark Wahlberg, Alex Baldwin, Martin Sheen, and many more. Big, talented cast. Strong performances. Interesting story with edge-of-your-seat plot turns. I certainly didn’t know how the story twist and turn, and I couldn’t accurately predict the climax for the story.
I would recommend this film. I love a well-done film.
