Just for fun, we thought we'd make one last trip for Num, as she won't be allowed to fly anywhere during her 3rd trimester. As we had long-hoped to visit her cousin Milind & wife Preethi (who are currently in Florida), and Leena & Sanjay (who we've been meaning to visit for a while), it was time to do the deed. Short weekend, but a great time to relax in a quick 4-day weekend trip.
We rode out to JFK and flew on Song to Tampa. Picked up our Ford Escape rental car (with Hertz NeverLost GPS), drove the 2 hours to Gainesville to meet Milind & Preethi. We arrived at their apartment @ 2am, and we were pretty darn tired. Still, we all stayed up to chit-chat until 4am. Hey, I'd never met Milind, and I hadn't hung out with Preethi since August in Bangalore.

The weekend was spent hanging out, going household shopping with them, chilling out, and seeing a bit of Gainesville. Seriously, nothing really to see in Gainesville. |

Have you ever seen radio control cars this big?

Hmm, what I wouldn't give for the Knight Rider episodes
|
Speaking of household shopping, we got them a TV stand, and I helped them choose out a VCR/DVD player. Ah, it wouldn't be a trip if I couldn't help someone with their electronics.

"How do I set up this DVD player?"
|
"Hey, it works!"

On Friday, we saw more of Gainesville, and drove around the U of Florida campus, including the stadium. |

Look at that belly

Argh, my butt is sore from sitting around

But at least we're on the way to Fort Myers

85 MPH down I-75 for 4 hours. Arriving at 9pm, we had dinner with Sanjay & Leena at their house Saturday night.

Sunday, we all jumped into their Durango (very nice!), and we drove around Fort Myers. For fun (?), we went researching for baby stuff @ Burlington Coat Factory for what felt like a long time. |
Breakfast!

Ah, Fort Myers. Love those palm trees

Hey cutie!

Afterwards, we had a late lunch at Steak n' Shake (hmm, great burgers and desserts). Dinner was just at home again.
Monday, we headed out to the UPS store to ship some hand-me-downs from Leena back to NY, return the rental car, lunch at the airport, catch our flight, etc. No biggie. |
Getting some stroller tips

"These strollers are tricky!"
