We finally have a new microwave

It’s been a year since someone mysteriously cracked our original microwave. No one has confessed at this point, but it was time for one anyway. We had this yellow GE over-the-range model that came with the house back in 1998, and the previous owners had never replaced.

It took a year of on and off researching. Funny enough there are a lot of models out there, and a few had a tendency to… catch fire? Those type of user reviews scared me off for a while. With the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays approaching, it was time to pony up for a new one. After much researching, we decided on this Samsung over-the-range 30″ wide 2.0 cubic feet model with four vent speeds, lights, turntable, and no flux capacitor.

It took a week and a half for us to finally get the unit delivered and installed. We waited a week (with numerous calls to Lowe’s) to complain that the original installer was unresponsive. They finally reassigned the job, and we had it installed 3 days later.

We’re still getting the hang of all of the buttons, but it’s been good so far. I still want to change out the cook top.
