We went to Patrick & Arielle’s October wedding and it was a lot of fun

Waiting for the wedding to begin, with Jay & Aimee Casale

Last weekend, we dropped the kids off to my in-laws for the weekend, and we spent some quality adult time (not like that!) The night before, we spent it having fun in Freehold. In the morning, we picked up the kids from my in-laws for Lily’s dance class, as well as walking the neighborhood with Josh selling popcorn. After we dropped the kids back to my in-laws, we were off to get packed for Patrick & Arielle’s wedding up in Andover, NJ. That’s waaaay out there in northwest NJ. We were staying the night at the Homewood Suites in Rockaway, NJ. Traffic wasn’t too bad, and we booked it up to the hotel, with enough time to check in, shower, dress up all fancy, and catch the shuttle (a school bus!) to Perona Farms.

Yes, it was my first ever outdoor wedding. Let me tell you, it was rather chilly on a Saturday evening in October, but it was a very nice, cozy, non-traditional / non-religious wedding. After the wedding service, we went inside (Thank God!) for the cocktail hour and the reception. We had a lot of fun hanging out and dancing the night away. Yes, twice in two days. We caught the 11 PM shuttle / school bus back to the hotel (after the driver dropped off a lot of guests to another bar for the after party), and we watched a little TV before bed.

In the morning, we were up for breakfast at the hotel, checked out around 12 noon, and started our trip back to pick up the kids, and back to reality.
