Joel’s review of This Is the End (2013)

So….. this was a stupid movie. Sorry, just had to get it out of the way there.

This Is the End came out in 2013,  written and directed by Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen.  The film is about fictionalized versions of these famous Hollywood actors and actresses hanging out at James Franco’s house for a house party, then experiencing the end of the world. The main cast consists of: Seth Rogen, James Franco, Jonah Hill, Jay Baruchel, Craig Robinson, and Danny McBride. Plenty of other cameos include (but not limited to) Michael Cera, Emma Watson, Mindy Kaling, Rihanna, Kevin Hart, Aziz Ansari, but these cameos are mostly of the blink and you’ll miss ’em variety. It’s basically a lot like that famous film series (though the name escapes me) about what happens to the rest of us when we get left behind. Oh, that was it — Left Behind. Although this is the more comical series.

When I read about the film and saw the trailers, the film plot intrigued me. Now that I watched it, I gotta say that I didn’t find it all that funny. It just….. wasn’t all that funny. I mean, 45 minutes into the film, and I’m really wondering how am I going to finish this film.

Yeah, that’s all I got. It’s not that entertaining.
