Business Trip to Chicago

I was recently in Chicago for a businesd trip. I had spent most of my Sunday morning fighting the good fight against the backyard patio, then rushed inside to shower and pack up for my flight out of Newark on Southwest Airlines. I’ve never flown on Southwest, and I found the boarding process a bit odd. No set seats — you board by group and you find an available seat. I was staying at the Residence Inn Chicago Downtown/Magnificent Mile, which was a nice hotel. I was ill prepared for the cool and windy weather, so I was freezing when I arrived at my hotel. I started walking around, and it was very windy. I decided to hit the Magnificent Mile, and picked up some new casual shoes, jeans, and a shirt from Banana Republic. My colleague joining me on the trip arrived at the hotel, and then we went to grab some dinner at the nearby Drake Hotel.

The rest of the trip was fairly uneventful. On Monday night, my colleague and I went out for a walk to grab dinner, and to see X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) at an AMC theater off the Magnificent Mile. On the last day, my flight was fairly delayed due to the inclement weather, but I was able to see my friend Teena and her daughter at Midway airport. How? Her flight landed and parked at the gate next to my mine as mine was boarding. I saw them for about 30 seconds, then I jumped on my plane. That was a nice treat to see a friend while on a business trip, albeit for 30 seconds.
